On 8 October 2026 Anthropic said it will commit $150 million over three years to the Genesis Mission, a federal initiative to speed up scientific discovery with AI. It aims to make Claude available to more than 15 agencies and to support several hundred research projects with credits.
arXiv announced on 1 October 2026, effective the same day, that each submitter is limited to two submissions per calendar month, on top of an existing cap of three active submissions. It says September brought 40,363 submissions, up from 20,569 a year earlier, and calls the policy a stopgap.
NVIDIA says Nemotron-based systems scored 535.4 of 600 at IOI 2026, in an unofficial unsupervised run, and 30 of 42 at IMO 2026, graded by official IMO graders. It links checkpoints, training datasets and a 200-problem benchmark; the post names no license. The results are NVIDIA's own.
On 6 October 2026 OpenAI released a set of mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model, with reasoning summaries and many proofs formalized in Lean. OpenAI says the average result took about three hours of ChatGPT Pro thinking. The results come from OpenAI and have not been independently reviewed.
