What happened
On 28 October 2026 Anthropic published a page announcing that three features are generally available for Claude Enterprise: smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets. TechCrunch covered the launch the same day as tools that show companies what their AI spending is buying.
Key details
The details below come from Anthropic’s page, read on 29 October 2026.
- Smart reports: an admin picks a team, a date range and products. Claude samples transcripts and groups the work into workstreams, showing spend, deliverables and friction, with one list of recommendations per report. Admins with billing permission can raise a spend limit from the report, and owners can let non-admin team leads run reports.
- Limit on use: the page says the reports “aren’t for evaluating individual performance or making employment decisions”.
- In-app surveys: default questions about value, which admins can customize; responses export to a spreadsheet. Anthropic says it accesses them “only as necessary to operate the service”.
- Pooled group budgets: one shared monthly budget per group, with individual member limits still acting as a guardrail, so a member stops at whichever limit is reached first. Admins with billing permission get email alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100%.
- Availability: varies by configuration, including HIPAA and customer-managed encryption keys.
Why it matters
Spending and value are now a standard question for companies buying AI tools, and these features put reporting and budget controls inside the product. Reports built from sampled transcripts raise a privacy question that Anthropic addresses by ruling out individual performance use; how that is enforced in practice depends on each customer’s policies, which the page does not describe.
Disclosure: Claude, made by Anthropic, was one of the AI tools used to research and draft this article, and this article is about Anthropic’s own product. Details come from Anthropic’s page, read on 29 October 2026.
