Deyron Labs graphic: Kling 4.0 generates 30-second video natively, extends clips to 2 minutes and takes up to 15 references; figures are Kling's own and no pricing is given

What happened

On 16 October 2026, Kling AI announced the global launch of Kling 4.0, its latest video generation model. The announcement is a press release datelined Beijing and distributed through GlobeNewswire; Yahoo Finance labels its copy a paid press release. Kling’s website presents the model as “All-New Kling 4.0” but gives no launch date, pricing or API status. The figures below come from the press release and are Kling’s claims, not something we tested.

Kling says the model is available now on the Kling AI website. API access for enterprise customers and developers is described as coming “soon”, with no date.

Key details

  • Length: Kling says Kling 4.0 generates 30-second videos natively, and that users can extend an uploaded video to up to two minutes.
  • Control: The Omni Reference feature accepts up to 15 references, which can be images, video and audio, plus up to 10 keyframes. The text prompt limit rises to 8,000 tokens.
  • Motion: Kling describes motion and complex camera moves (push-ins, pans, tracking and orbit shots) as more stable than before. This is a company claim; the release gives no independent evaluation.
  • Coming later: 10-bit HDR output at 4K and 1080p, and a 21:9 ultrawide format, are listed as coming soon.
  • Adobe: According to the release, Adobe says Kling 4.0 and Kling 4.0 Flash are coming soon to Adobe Firefly.
  • Scale, per Kling: more than 100 million users and more than 50,000 enterprise customers. The release does not mention pricing.
  • Earlier access: AI Weekly reported, citing Bloomberg, that Kling 4.0 Flash went to the highest-tier yearly subscribers on 28 September 2026. We did not verify that report against a Kling source.

Why it matters

A 30-second native clip is a step beyond the short clips most video generators produce in one pass, and two-minute extension means a longer scene may no longer need to be stitched by hand. Whether the quality holds over that length is not shown by the release, and the HDR and API pieces are not yet available. Until pricing and API terms appear, anyone planning production work around Kling 4.0 should treat the figures above as announced, not tested.
